“We hired Amanda to bolster our mechanical design strength on a small team in which I led with ambitious timelines and goals. When I first interviewed Amanda, I was impressed with her quick ability to apply theory in design. My experience with tech is that it is ever evolving at a rapid pace; therefore, good design with speed is extremely advantageous. Amanda exemplified this by clearly navigating the use of "napkin calculations" to architect and tune a design in which I kept manipulating in an effort to stump her. Like I mentioned before, the project we brought her into was quite ambitious, so we immediately through her into the fire forcing her to quickly learn a new CAD system and crank out parts. She kept her composure, worked diligently, and delivered where we needed her - often wearing multiple hats at once. She was good in execution. But again, the intangible space where Amanda's value was best felt was when we were stumped in design and the space opened up for creativity to fill. Like in her interview, Amanda thrived in applying theory to new ideas and bringing quick resolution to new problems. This is an invaluable skill and one that is hard to quantify or explain on a resume. It comes natural to Amanda and if we were still working together I would venture to exploit and grow this skill further. This is where she has tremendous potential!”
