    The mission of Brown Girls Do Ballet® is to help increase participation of underrepresented minority populations in ballet programs through organizing and arranging ballet performances, photo exhibitions, and providing mentorship, resources and scholarships to assist young girls in their ballet development and training.

    In my role as chair of Brown Girls Do Ballet®, I have crafted bylaws, contributed strategies to attract donors, designed customized culture, diversity and inclusion training (highlighting mitigating bias) for ballet company's and dancers, and raised funds. As a former brown ballerina, I have immense passion for the mission of Brown Girls Do Ballet and am always seeking ways to elevate and expose the organization in ways that will contribute to its success.

    NAAWLI, The National African American Women’s Leadership Institute, is a non-profit, leadership development organization that encourages African American women to discover and maximize their leadership potential with a customized program that is both gender-based and culturally relevant. Since 2000, NAAWLI has provided education, information and training to organizations and their African-American women leaders to advance performance. Through participation in our programs, African-American women professionals return to their organizations with innovative ideas, new and enhanced business skills and a greater capacity for addressing challenges their company faces.

    As a program alumni and current secretary, I have the privilege of ensuring NAAWLI programming is relevant for today's fellows, as well as customizing the alumni experience.
