“I had the great fortune and pleasure to inherit Amit and his team in a reorganization. Amit had already brought to life the first several versions of what became Bing Maps, and he continued to drive innovation and execution as the product matured. Amit's style was inclusive and collaborative, encouraging teamwork and empowering others to participate in decision-making. In particular in this project where we were often covering new ground , Amit deftly balanced pressure from engineers wanting to build 'cool stuff' with a pragmatism looking towards meeting needs of customers and business goals. As the business expanded, I then watched as Amit grew into a business leader, taking on the task of integrating and leading product development within acquired company. When the occasion warrants it, Amit can get into details, showing his long ago developed technical skills.”
