I helped identify that Tricare South had forgotten to include any diabetic supplies in their formulary. The association presented this to Congress and helped all diabetics reduce their out of pocket expenses in the southern military health care system.

Communicated with legislators in 2006-2007 in North Carolina that the Military Children's Interstate Compact needed to be implemented so that students transitioning between states could still meet high school requirements so that they could graduate on time.
In the fall of 2007 in Oklahoma I contacted state legislators to thank them for signing the interstate compact that summer and ask them to help seniors who had just moved into the state. The example was a young man who wanted to play sports and thus had to be enrolled in school 4 of 6 periods but only needed 3 classes offered at the school. He was told that he could enroll in college classes but the laws said he had to participate in classes during high school hours. Unfortunately there were no classes available during that timespan when he arrived a week before school. After talking with legislators and the superintendent, we explained that the MCIC should help schools be flexible and allow the young man to take classes anytime during the day. He was allowed to take 2 college classes each semester and come home to study during the 2 extra periods of the high school day instead of sitting in study hall.
