Here's how you can communicate effectively with patients as a Patient Advocate
Explaining medical information to patients and families in a clear and easy to understand manner is so important, and it can directly enhance patient care and outcomes. For example, explaining how using an incentive spirometer can prevent secondary infections, increases compliance. Healthcare workers are busy, and they might place the device at the bedside and teach the patient how to use it, but they might not explain why it's recommended. When the patient understands the benefit, they are more likely to participate.
