About

I'm proud to lead an outstanding team of marketing and training professionals at NoveList, a company dedicated to helping libraries reach readers. I also strategize and execute NoveList's social media and blog content and manage the marketing budget. I have strategy, PR, email, social media, and collection marketing expertise. My background includes nearly seven years as the Marketing Content Team Leader for the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and more than 20 years as an Emmy-award-winning broadcast TV journalist.

In 2015, I started the blog SuperLibraryMarketing.com. There, I share in-depth promotional strategies and tips for libraries around the world. I'm also the host of "The Library Marketing Show" on YouTube, a weekly segment where I answer viewer questions and share quick tips to help make the job of marketing a library easier and more effective.

I've been fortunate enough to work as a speaker, sharing insights and engaging audiences at conferences and events around the world for organizations including:
📚Library Marketing and Communications Conference
📚Ohio Library Council
📚Indiana Federation of Libraries
📚Illinois Library Association
📚Edge Conference for the City of Edinburgh, Scotland Council
📚Mississippi Library Association
📚New England Library Association
📚Inland Northwest Council of Libraries
📚Ontario Library Association Super Conference
📚Wild Wisconsin Winter Web Conference
📚Bergen County Cooperative Library System
📚New South Wales, Australia Libraries
📚Association of Small and Rural Libraries Conference
📚Southwest Ohio and Neighboring Libraries
📚Northeast Florida Library Information Network
And many more.

I also served as chair of Citizens for Finneytown Schools, the political action committee that successfully passed a 7.69 mil bond issue in November 2019 to build two new schools in Finneytown, Ohio.

I can be reached at [email protected]. My opinions are all my own. 😊

From Library Journal: "Angela Hursh’s passion for helping libraries promote their programs and services is unrivaled, and her blog, superlibrarymarketing.com, is an invaluable resource for libraries around the world. Since the blog’s launch in 2015, she’s published 425 articles and videos, which have been viewed more than 426,000 times. As manager of engagement and marketing for NoveList, Hursh lately has been using her skills and hands-on experience to help libraries uphold their First Amendment rights by fighting book bans.

Additionally, Hursh writes and coproduces an extensive library marketing, advocacy, and collection curriculum for the Learn with NoveList online professional development platform, which she codeveloped. Through these marketing-specific courses, she has worked with hundreds of people, teaching them how to set marketing goals, create promotions that reach those goals, and measure their efforts.

The library was an integral part of her childhood, and Hursh says she is driven by the desire to tackle the increasing number of threats faced by libraries and the world of books in general. This was the impetus behind the in-person presentation “No More Neutral: How to Use Marketing to Position Your Library in Challenging Times.” As Angela puts it, “When a library has marketing success, it makes the organization stronger, and when one library is made stronger, it makes the entire library world stronger. That’s what drives me to do the work I do every day.”
