What are the best ways for healthcare professionals to stay current with industry changes?
Find a mentor and stay teachable and eager to learn. Yes, the product is essential, but how it "gets there" deserves just as much attention. Leaders need more than having ideas; they need to engender support from the people imploring them. Being confident in your innovation is not enough; you REQUIRE the buy-in of the community you will serve. Don't just bet on yourself, bet on your team. Create an engaging environment where EVERYONE's responsibility is finding and fixing problems, a.k.a. innovation. The visual polish only matters if your story is correct. Make work a place where people's engagement is strengthened and transformed into success. Bring passion to an idea and capture their heart forever. Learn to listen, intentionally.

Healthcare Consultant/RCM Expert. #1 rule - Find a mentor in your industry! For Healthcare compliance, OIG and CMS online manuals are excellent resources. Payer education can alter based on contractual requirements, but general guidance can be found on provider portals and email newsletters. Continuing education in healthcare is critical as regulations change consistently. Coding guidelines are also included in all code books and are searchable online. Join a community and affiliate yourself.
