Throughout this paper, I have attempted to highlight some of the research that has led to information which can and should be put into practice. Now it is up to educators and instructional designers to apply this new found knowledge in designing instruction that aids word problem solving performance. Hopefully, it will not take another thirty years for some of these instructional tactics to be implemented in the classroom." (Guetschow, 1996).
