An inspirational and practical book that offers sound leadership advice to entrepreneurs, managers, employees and activists and to aspiring leaders in business, government, church, school and community settings. Drawing on his personal experiences in community organizing, sports and politics, Anton Gunn identifies ten fundamental essentials of transformative leaders that include: Have an inclusive and compelling vision; Demonstrate your commitment; Maintain authenticity; Learn to listen; Be a selfless leader and have the Attitude of a Hip Hop Emcee. Gunn, hailed by Time magazine as “A Leader of [President] Obama’s Grassroots Army”, writes an honest, insightful, down-to-earth analysis of what it takes to be a great leader.

Chuck D, Co-Founder of Public Enemy says:
“The experiences that shaped the words in this book are undoubtedly shared by many of its future readers, and the actions they create will be shared by many of our future leaders. The Audacity of Leadership is exactly the next phase for someone who recognizes who he or she truly is, and from whence they come. I'm proud to say Brother Anton Gunn has paved the next step with the necessary and inspiring words to take these future generations even higher, while empowering them to boldly reach down to save the rest from its lows.

In 2010: A new Patient's Bill of Rights went into effect, protecting consumers from the worst abuses of the insurance industry. Cost-free preventive services began for many Americans. In 2011: People with Medicare get key preventive services for free, and also receive a 50% discount on brand-name drugs in the Medicare “donut hole.” In 2012: Accountable Care Organizations and other programs help doctors and health care providers work together to deliver better care. In 2013: Open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace begins on October 1st. In 2014: All Americans will have access to affordable health insurance options. The Marketplace will allow individuals and small businesses to compare health plans on a level playing field. Middle and low-income families will get tax credits that cover a significant portion of the cost of coverage. And the Medicaid program will be expanded to cover more low-income Americans. All together, these reforms mean that millions of people who were previously uninsured will gain coverage, thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
