Conducted fundamental research and analysis (comparative) to develop a DCF and normalized P/E model in excel to come up with an accurate target price range for SLB Ltd. resulting in a strong recommendation to hold the stock.

The fundamental valuation led to a decision that the company was undervalued but there was not enough margin of safety to work with.

• First place winner at local round of ACG Case Competition, which provided real world experience into mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity.

• Led the team to develop a deal/debt structure & exit strategy by performing valuation (DCF, Comparable multiples,Comparable transactions, LBO & Synergy Valuations) on companies and options, which led to a recommendation to the fictional Private Equity firm that we were representing.

• Led the research team to construct, back test and stress test a portfolio consisting of small-mid cap stocks, emerging market stocks, fixed income and REITS.

Developed, fit ,compared and presented the predictive power of multivariate and univariate mean and volatility models for a time series data set . Calculated VaR and Expected Shortfall of the series.

In this project we had to act as the CFO of the company and take various financial decisions and run a simulation of our decisions.

We were handed over a company which was doing pretty badly in terms of financial stability and their stock price. We were to make various financial decisions, operating decisions and risk management decisions and make the company more financially stable.

We were handed over a company which was doing pretty badly in terms of financial stability and their stock price. We were to make various financial decisions, operating decisions and risk management decisions and make the company more financially stable.

By the end of our decision making, we were able to improve the company's stock price from $5.45 to a all time high of $59.72. The volatility of the stock price was restricted to 15% when compared to the industry which had a volatility of 36%. The EPS reached an all time high of $2.62 and the P/E was stabilized to an average of $8.62.We were able to increase the cash balance of the company as well as increase the dividends that the shareholders received.

This project was done as a team and everyone had similar responsibilities. This was because this required a lot of brain storming and discussion as to what our next decision should be. Show less
