  • Automated Manual Transmissions (AMT) equipped bus

    - Present

    We are working to automate the existing range of manual transmissions (TM), in addition to the new developments of modular TMs for light duty applications. The cycle starts from design and development of automated components, hardware alignment, software development, related EMS parameter calibrations, and finally endurance runs for making a production mature product.

  • Teaching neural networks to solve partial differential equations (PDEs)

    Inspired from the complexity posed by Lithium-ion battery models, and a high computational time required by current PDE solvers, this project aims to teach neural networks to make approximations to the nonlinear PDEs using convolution-based neural networks. The approach is to use solved plots from the existing finite element solvers to generate datasets for the net.

    A 12 layers deep network reached an average accuracy of 8%, with the error non-linearity varying from 2% to 30%. The neural networks, again, were found to be 6 times faster for a single dimensional PDE, and could be faster in magnitudes of order 3 in case of a Li-ion application.
