This program addressed the fundamental aspects of the immigration framework that corporations are now facing when hiring or moving employees, or conducting transactional and transnational business activities including sale or asset purchases, mergers, expansions and acquisitions.

  • Global Migration: Common Issues in Foreign Secondments

    I led this AILA webinar, which provided an overview of the key global migration concepts US immigration attorneys need to know when working with clients who send their employees on business trips and assignments/secondments outside the US. The panel provided real world tips by working through the fact patterns most commonly encountered by U.S. attorneys and featured leading immigration experts from Brazil, Canada and the UK.

  • AILA GMS/RDC Teleconference: Ethical Considerations in Working With Foreign Counsel

    AILA Global Migration Section & Rome District Chapter

    I led this joint Global Migration Section/Rome District Chapter session, which addressed ethical considerations US licensed attorneys should consider when working with counsel in non-US jurisdictions. The speakers discussed both the legal framework of confidentiality rules and the practical application of those rules in real-world, cross-border situations in Germany, Nigeria and Russia.
