How REI Put A Bow On Social Marketing And Wowed Customers

See publicationJust before Christmas I had my own encounter with the "wow" experience when my casual tweet to REI, "What is the best gift suggestion you have this year?" was answered through a video. Not only the video was custom made for me, it was made within less than an hour. Even for the most innovative companies, that speed of response is to be envied.

REI's legacy website had reached the end of its life, yet the path to future was unclear. I developed a vision that could work with existing systems and organizational structure, built cross-departmental consensus with Marketing and IT constituents, and led retraining and staff development within Online to prepare employees to do the work in house. Spanning strategy, tactics, and implementation I guided the project to a successful completion and REI.com is still running on the systems and…
