  • MoPal Elastic Search Query Tool (php web app)

MoPal is a simple PHP app which allows you to execute Elastic Search queries and save the results to comma separate values (.csv) files. I use this at Mozilla to run ad-hoc queries against our Elastic Search cluster an export the results so I may analyze them in Tableau. This ad-hoc analysis is my first step in developing new analysis. It allows me to test if the data I’m asking our engineering team for will in fact be valuable once loaded into our data warehouse (Vertica).

  • Explorer for Tableau Server (tableau workbook)

Explorer for Tableau Server provides a fresh face for your Tableau Server environment. In design there is a saying: "Less is more." With that we have found that many of our clients can take advantage of simplifying access to dashboards by removing a lot of the default Tableau Server interface. In it's place, a simple search with a drop down list of your published dashboard is provided. This is done by opening up access to your Tableau Server database and deploying Explorer.
