Programmers have been working for the past 48 hours on an app for the developmental non-profit. The event started on Friday night -- with an introduction to the contest.
"We had students from Drury College with a prototype saying this is what the app should look like, and we had Non-Profit saying this is what we need the app to do."
Then -- it was time to get to work.

"Some of us have been working throughout the night a couple of times, some of us have went to bed at 2am and were back here at 8am, so not a lot of sleep, but plenty of caffeine."
Each team had different road blocks they had to endure.
"Trying to learn new technologies on the fly."
"We have spent a lot of time properly connecting our database, and sometimes it will give you indescriptive reasons why that doesn't work."
But they pushed on...
"These people want to give back to the community, and the best way to do that is through their skills which is coding."
And all of that work is much appreciated.
"Kind of wondering and dreaming how we were going to fill, and they just stepped in an all of these coders made that dream a reality."
"Coming as far as they did in just 48 hours, like oh my gosh, its pretty good... I'm amazed."
"The apps aren't completely done, but now they have a base that they can work on and hopefully finish in the future. Show less
