How can you manage a high volume of open positions effectively?
AI & Assessments lends itself nicely to high volume openings. It can be the very tool that takes thousands of applications and organizes them into 1)quick offers 2)self-scheduling or 3)redirect for other opportunities to name a few. It can help stack rank candidates quickly too to ensure the team tasked with filling these openings can be productive. The most important thing to remember when working with AI/assessments is to not remove the human element. Aside from the touch points during the hiring process, I would challenge conventional thinking that the HM needs to do an interview though. What if, instead, the newly offered candidates were scheduled for a tour or meet & greet with their new teams? Be brave, embrace whats outside the box

How can you manage a high volume of open positions effectively?
Know the end point. Does this large volume of openings need to be filled due to a new site opening? A new initiative? What are the milestones the team needs to hit to stay on track for this project. Who are the stakeholders? Ensure the intake goes over what they can expect and what role they play in the process.

Boyertown YMCA
Children
During my time as the community ambassador, I put together a group of 10+ volunteers from our team at the Best Buy in Pottstown to volunteer at the Boyertown/Gilbertsville YMCA to help with their Breakfast with Santa and Halloween events. We helped seat people, serve food, clear tables, set up and take down all tables and chairs, and even dressed in costume to interact with the children and their families. With each event we were able to apply for a Best Buy Tag Team award of $1000 for this…

Animal Welfare
Folly and Friends is a non-profit mustang rescue and rehabilitation farm. I volunteer my time to help maintain the farm by cleaning and mucking the stalls and the pens, feeding and giving hay to the horses, and bringing in and turning out all the mustangs; from the tame and trained to the wild and free.

In January of 2023, I saw a Facebook post from a woman desperately trying to find her husband a kidney. I found out that he was a father of 5 and a volunteer firefighter. Being a mom of 9 and married to a fireman, I felt compelled to start the process to see if I could donate.

I found out that he was a father of 5 and a volunteer firefighter. Being a mom of 9 and married to a fireman, I felt compelled to start the process to see if I could donate.
While I wasn’t a perfect match for my intended recipient, the national kidney registry offered another option, called a paired kidney exchange. Through this process, I was able to donate my kidney to another complete stranger in New Hampshire, and as a result, my intended recipient was moved to the living donor list, and received his new kidney as well.
Going through this almost 12 month process has really given me a new appreciation and a whole lot of new insight and understanding to the living donor impact. I’m on a journey now to share my story in hopes that it might inspire someone to consider being a living donor, or at least contribute to the national kidney donor organization, or the national kidney foundation to continue to support the efforts to provide kidneys to those in need.
