How do you develop a successful MVP on a tight budget?
Don’t spend 6 months building your MVP. You’d be surprised how many entrepreneurs throw in the towel before getting a customer. Some key principles: 1) Fail fast - don't spend years building the "perfect" product. You need to launch something fast (weeks, not months) and get feedback from real customers. 2) Understand your target audience - define your target user & understand their needs. 3) Core features only - solve the problem with the bare minimum features. 4) Speed over perfection - you can be slightly embarrassed and polish it off later. 5) Talk to users - get it infront of people and understand their feedback Celebrate your small wins! 6) Iterate, iterate, iterate.

How do you use cohort analysis to understand user behavior and retention for your start-up product?
Top VC firms like Benchmark, A16Z, & Sequoia all want to know about your user and revenue retention by cohort. Your startup should start measuring and improving these today. 1) User retention measures how many customers continue to use the product or service after their initial sign-up or purchase. 2) Revenue retention measures the total revenue retained from existing customers over time, taking into account any upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, or additional purchases. These metrics demonstrate your product-market fit. 1) how well do you retain users? 2) how well do you retain & expand revenue? It's ok if your retention curves are shit. You need to show that they are improving overtime (by cohort) and that you are learning.
