How can you use data analytics to personalize your content marketing for different segments?
Most marketers focus on time-bound purchase cohorts, which can be impersonal. Think outside the box to include not just information about a customer’s transaction history, or even their demographic info, but also how they want to engage with you as brand. For example, they may want to co-create your next product, be an ambassador, or create UGC for marketing campaigns. Being them into your brand and build a personal relationship with them.

How can customer co-creation improve product development?
Customer co-creation for CPG brands can help with demand planning and optimize marketing spend. Bringing customers into the new product development process can help shape not only the product features, but also the marketing copy. Simply ask customers what problems they have, and use the same language to describe your product’s benefits. Use the principle of reciprocity to activate your customers to help spread the word about a new product launch they helped co-create. You’re struggling to get your point across with data visualization. What’s the best way to improve?
I start with the story first, knowing what the audience needs to hear. Then I use the data to make a point in the story. For example, if a client wants to grow store sales, I’d first show how growth looks for a company with high store sales growth, then layer in the clients store sales growth. The gaps can then be the 2-3 points of where to focus.
