To that end, The BUILD Health Challenge is honored to have leading grantmaking organizations partnering in this effort. In 2020 and 2021, de Beaumont partnered with pollster Frank Luntz and data intelligence company Morning Consult on a series of polls and focus groups to identify the messaging and language most likely to build support for public health measures and confidence in COVID-19 vaccines. Since then, we have continued to study the views, beliefs, and values of Americans on key health topics to inform the development of effective public health messaging and language.

    The Public Health Communications Collaborative (PHCC) was formed in August 2020 by the CDC Foundation, the de Beaumont Foundation, and Trust for America’s Health to provide unbiased communication about the COVID-19 pandemic. With misinformation and polarization eroding trust in public health, PHCC’s founders came together to create, coordinate, and amplify science-based messaging to support and enhance the communications capacity of health departments across the country.

    Since that time, PHCC has grown to include new partners and broadened our mission beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, our resources are guided by feedback from the field to address the evolving needs of public health communicators, such as answers to tough questions, misinformation alerts, shareable graphics and social messaging, and other communication tools.

    PH WINS (the Public Health Workforce Interests and Needs Survey) supports the governmental public health workforce by measuring strengths and gaps to inform future investments in funding, training, recruitment, and retention. Conducted by the de Beaumont Foundation and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, PH WINS is the only nationally representative source of data about the governmental public health workforce. It collects data on the demographics of the workforce and captures individual public health workers’ perspectives on key issues such as workforce engagement and morale, training needs, and emerging concepts in public health.

  • The Practical Playbook

    The Practical Playbook is a joint effort between Duke Community and Family Medicine, the de Beaumont Foundation, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to define concrete methods for integrating primary care and population health.
