My role involves advancing Heart's mission through strategic planning, policy development, fiduciary oversight, and fundraising initiatives. The Finance Committee for Heart Math Tutoring prepares the financial reporting for the organization prior to each Board of Directors meeting. We primarily serve as financial oversight, offering recommendations to the founder of the organization as she helps to run the annual budgets of the organization.

Heart Math Tutoring is a math intervention program that recruits, trains, and supports volunteers as tutors in high-poverty elementary schools in Charlotte, NC. Heart’s mission is to ensure that all elementary students develop the strong foundation in math and enthusiasm for academics needed for long-term success, by helping schools use volunteers as tutors.

The mission of the Fred J. Morganthall II Foundation is to provide financial assistance to Harris Teeter associates to relieve financial hardships that result from sudden and unforeseen circumstances. As an Executive Committee Director, I provide oversight to this foundation as it executes its stated mission.

As an MLT Ascend Coach, I strive to help ensure that low-income, first-generation college students graduate and do so prepared for professional careers that lead to long-term employment and financial stability. I am matched with a first-generation college freshman and I try to provide personalized guidance, support, encouragement, and advice on how to best navigate college.

New Way Foundation is a Charlotte-based non-profit founded by Genesia Newsome which provides mentoring, tutoring, music, and experience programs for K-12 youth. The ultimate goal is to pave pathways to adulthood and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment in every child and young adult we work with.
