    In today’s fast-paced world the job market has moved beyond your hometown. With business professionals leading more teams that are connecting digitally, and more partnerships including an international component, it is important that leadership consider developing skills that will ignite the acknowledgement of cultures, diversity, sensitivity and world view. The MOL program, with a concentration in Organizational and Global Leadership, will prepare students to be better change agents in today's modern business model.

    Activities and Societies: The lean systems program is a university-industry partnership initiated by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky's president, Fujio Cho, in 1994 to systematically explore, study, and teach the workings of the Toyota Production System (TPS).

    Developing the Kaizen Mind for Leadership-Part 1 identifies the components of TPS and explains how and why these components came about. This is important because it provides the big picture of the transformation process.

    Installing the Toyota ODG (Operations Development Group-Part 2 strengthens core lean skill sets introduced earlier. After reviewing the in-plant assignments from part 1, the students discuss the functioning of Toyota’s Operations Development Group, a way to bring…

    Developing the Kaizen Mind for Leadership-Part 1 identifies the components of TPS and explains how and why these components came about. This is important because it provides the big picture of the transformation process.

    Installing the Toyota ODG (Operations Development Group-Part 2 strengthens core lean skill sets introduced earlier. After reviewing the in-plant assignments from part 1, the students discuss the functioning of Toyota’s Operations Development Group, a way to bring leadership thinking forward and to develop management capability for TPS.

    Maintaining Lean Through Standardization-Part 3 of the certification builds on 1 and 2 and presents methods that sustain lean improvement. Toyota’s techniques for achieving standardization will be reviewed including the significance of the role structure that keeps problems from returning. The human aspects of transformational leadership and the annual planning process called Hoshin Kanri are also presented.
