“In 2018 I had the distinct honor of bringing Casey onto our team at Ember Lab. It was immediately clear that Casey is everything that a Senior Game Designer should be; the sort of person that is both highly skilled and a pleasure to work alongside! Casey's designs are innovative and fun, and he places a strong emphasis on using a game's unique mechanics and pillars to deliver a complete experience. When work was tested, Casey's puzzles and levels always received comments from the team and playtesters about how fun and engaging they were! Due to the small size of the team, Casey wore many hats and did large amounts of work on combat and enemy systems and other systems design as well. Professionally, one could not ask for a better co-worker! At every opportunity, Casey is professional and thoughtful; a mediator and a problem solver. He communicated designs thoroughly and clearly, able to explain and prototype ideas and structure their implementation. In addition, he is an excellent mentor and teacher, and throughout the project he helped acquaint newer designers to both technical skills and design philosophy alike. Casey brings with him years of experience as a designer, leader, and a team-member and it shows in every aspect of his work; he has my highest recommendation, and it would be an honor to work with him again!”
