    Who We Are.
Our mission is to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community.

    What We Do.
We work with more than 700 community-based partners—including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, shelters and senior centers—to distribute an average of 9.7 million pounds of food each month, or approximately 8 million+ meals to our neighbors who are food insecure in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
In February 2023, with the support of a caring community of partners, advocates, donors, and volunteers, we distributed our 1 Billionth meal into the community.

    Who We Serve.
We partner with food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters, and senior centers that receive food and goods from us. In turn, these partners provide food and other critical resources for the more than 600,000 people in our service area who suffer from hunger and food insecurity.

Food is just part of the picture.
Our mission is to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community. While our core work is food distribution, our efforts extend far beyond that. Our mission is lived out every day by engaging, educating and empowering both people in need and those who want to help. From volunteering your time to assisting people in achieving economic security, the Food Bank covers a wide range of opportunities for people to learn and get involved.

    How it Works.
We utilize more than 1,700 volunteers a month, over 150 staff members, a large fleet of trucks and the largest food banking facility in the United States to procure and distribute food and grocery items received from hundreds of donors. Our donors include manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, brokers, restaurants, food drives, farmers and individuals. The product is easily accessed by our partner agencies. They place their orders online and arrange for pick up or delivery. Once the food arrives at the agency, it is provided to families and individuals in need.
