Staffing the airport USO--a little volunteer work with my husband, who is retired Air Force. We started training before COVID, but obviously things were on hold for some time. So excited to join them as a volunteer at Lambert St. Louis Airport. The USO is an amazing service offered to active and retired military families who are in transit.

Worked with the local public administrator and courts to assist a senior who wished to remain in the home. Helped arrange for installation of handrails at the property, assisted with bill pay/check writing, and monitored bank balances and expenses. Assisted with tax return assembly for preparer; helped with obtaining supportive services: housekeeping, lawn maintenance, cell phone replacements, and other needed vendors. The relationship continues although the client is now in a nursing facility, but ended (at least officially; we still visit) when the family took over guardianship/conservatorship. Show less

We guided the development of an area ministry strategy and created a team to assist St. Louis area congregations in transition and without permanent pastors. Served on the Eastern Missouri Conference Strategy Team. We guided the development of an area ministry strategy and created a team to assist St. Louis area congregations in transition and without permanent pastors. We created the St. Louis Academy, a series of workshops with courses that included a series on Dismantling Racism, as well other classes on Congregational Vitality and technical classes on social media for congregations, music, etc. In particular, I coordinated the development of an Advent devotional booklet written and illustrated by members of our congregations. The finished product was presented to the Bishop and area congregations for use during the 2019 Advent season. Show less

Worked with an in-house team on all aspects of a $100,000 capital campaign designed to pay down the church mortgage to a manageable level. Campaign was a significant success, and I handled the renegotiation of the church mortgage, along with several subsequent re-amortizations. We were also able to fund full replacement of HVAC equipment, all of which was at the end of useful life.

Harvest Table is a cooperative community effort to provide a weekly free meal to those in need of nourishment, both bodily and socially. Workers serve on a rotating schedule; our group worked every 6 weeks.

Church pianist and member of music leadership team selecting music, also serving on the worship and music committee. Introduced new, contemporary music and liturgies. Also led an adult choir from Feb 2017 through Jan 2020.

Board member during a time of significant change. Led sub-committee responsible for recommendations in hiring two library directors--the first replacing a longtime director and the second hiring for a director to lead us through a renovation. Also served on a three-member committee tasked with recommending an architectural firm for library renovation/expansion.

Working in concert with the Auction Co-Chairs, I led the donation acquisition team, beginning with an event focused on getting parents to think creatively about donations that they could make or request to good financial effect. Auction net results were record-breaking.

Renovation was completed well within budget, and the remaining budget was used to pave the lower level parking lot. Subsequent to the completion of the space, solicited donations for new altar furnishings, along with a custom, blown-glass baptismal font.
