I spoke on the “Hiring Building and Retaining Top Security Talent” panel at the ISC(2) Security Congress with Kevin Flanagan, David Shearer, Joyce Brocaglia, and Moderator Anne Saita.

The Symantec SyBER Group is working to create diversity and inclusion within their organization and invited Deidre to join them to represent the "Workforce" pillar of their mission, which also included representatives from "Community" and "Workplace". They had a great discussion about actionable ways to create and support diversity and inclusion initiatives in the workforce and beyond.

Led a workshop at the 1st annual TiaraCon, a conference created to advance the careers of women in the cyber security profession. Deidre spoke about our strengths and challenges as women in the industry and how we can collaborate and communication our way through problems that arise from a lack of awareness and inclusion.

I was a panelist speaking about cyber security careers at the 4th Annual Information Security Summit 2016 by Towerwall and MassBay Community College.

I moderated "Roads to a Career in Cyber Security" at BSides Boston about various paths one can take to achieve success in the cyber security profession. Panelists included: Lital Asher-Dotan, Sonia E. Arista, Nazira Carlage and Sandra Carielli.

I delivered a keynote talk and led a workshop at the SOURCE Boston 2016 Conference entitled "Weaponize Your Words" where I discussed which words we should use and which ones are disempowering.

On Wednesday, February 24th, I gave a foreword about the lack of women in cyber security, followed by a panel about investing in security at the #IoT, for the Security of Things February meetup. The event was hosted by the office of UK Trade & Investment at The British Consulate in Cambridge, MA.

Along with co-sponsoring this event, I also spoke about the #brainbabe platform, www.brainbabe.org and how we can expand our thinking about what it means to be "in tech" in order to bring more women into cyber security and tech industries.

Joined the ISSA-NE January webinar focused on careers in cyber security to speak on the topic: “Why is finding a place to work that you love so hard?"

I joined the #CISOConnect Roundtable Panel and Discussion hosted by Barnabas Health on December 15th. This event was open only to CISOs and was focused on growing the cyber security community and common issues facing security-focused organizations.

I spoke about cyber security careers and simplifying job searching on November 18th, at the Security of Things/Internet of Things November Meetup from 6-9 pm, at Foley & Lardner in Boston. Additional speaker: Steve Hanna of Infineon.

On October 22, I joined the Passcode + Mach 37 panel at the Mach 37 building in Herndon, VA from 5:30-8pm. Thought leaders discussed Cyber Security and women in tech. Speakers included: Lauren Van Wazer from Akamai, Jennifer Bisceglie from Interos, Juliane Gallina from IBM and myself, on a panel moderated by Passcodes’ own Sara Sorcher.

Joined three classes as a guest speaker at Bentley University in Waltham, MA on 10/19. I spoke with undergraduate students on the topic of entrepreneurship in Cyber Security and Technology professions.
