Here's how you can employ active listening to resolve conflicts.
There's a rule in communication known as the 7-38-55 rule in which 55% of what we communicate is said in our body language, 38% is communicated in our tone of voice and only 7% is communicated through the words we say. Take this into mind and use your body to actively listen. This means making eye contact, nodding and slightly tilting your head in agreement & curiosity, and making facial expressions that show an understanding of what is being said. Doing this will communicate to the other individual that you're listening to them and will allow them to open up more, and lower their defenses. Just make sure that you're actually listening to the words they are saying and how they are saying them.

How can you optimize social media to increase engagement at your booth?
Make this an experience that flows... Build hype ahead of time: Utilize social media to create a buzz ahead of the trade show/event. Include an incentive to entice people to visit your booth. At the booth: Reward these visitors with SWAG & an experience that they want to share. Make sure you provide them with the tools to make sharing easier. Be it a #Hashtag, designed photo opp, or QR experience that includes data capture and potentially a guided online experience. After the event: Gather the data, and the posts. Share those posts and give the posters a shoutout. Wait some time and reward those who posted with something special that they will want to share again. Most importantly:Continue to follow up with valuable info, offers & more

Over the last 4 years I have built a bond with the people of Nicaragua. Each year in February I, along with other chaperons and over 20 high school students give up our winter vacation and travel to some of the most impoverished parts of Nicaragua. Our mission was to build a house for a family that worked and lived in one of the garbage dumps. I'm happy to say that over the course of 4 years we've done much more than that. Over the last 4 years I have built a bond with the people of Nicaragua. Each year in February I, along with other chaperons and over 20 high school students give up our winter vacation and travel to some of the most impoverished parts of Nicaragua. Our mission was to build a house for a family that worked and lived in one of the garbage dumps. I'm happy to say that over the course of 4 years we've done much more than that. Through fundraising efforts we were able to form The Mamma Margarita Foundation and purchase land in one of the barrios. Today that land features a house with running water, bathroom facilities, and a retreat center with a kitchen and dining room. The Mama Margarita Foundation is providing more than just houses, we have provided jobs for the local community, as well as food, supplies, a place of worship and gathering, and most of all hope. It has truly been one of the most eye opening and rewarding experiences of my life, and I look forward to returning to mis amigos en Nica.
