You’re a startup founder who needs to delegate tasks. What are the best ways to do it effectively?
It's critical when you delegate a task to be super clear on the requirements. At a minimum be clear on (i) what needs to be delivered (and if necessary what success looks like ie both parties knows what a win looks like) (ii) when it needs to be delivered by, (iii) who they should consult/engage with, (iv) what the budget/resources available to them. I have wasted a lot of time in a number of examples by not strictly following this framework! Depending on the complexity/org size you might also need a RACI, RAPID as well. Finally "if you don't inspect, you can't expect" so find the time to see what's going on!
