“Diana has brought nothing but enthusiasm, empathy, and infallible drive to our Senate meetings. From our very first conversation, I was so impressed with the initiative Diana takes in every aspect of her work. She proactively reached out to me before the semester began to tell me a bit about herself, and her impressive roster of work experience as an environmentalist, advocate for animals, and community leader, and to figure out how her unique skillset could apply within Senate. Not long after the semester started, she established herself as an advocate for international students, and for a much-needed focus on equitable, accessible online education practices, earning her place as a respected Senator in a community that she was still discovering. I always look forward to Diana's contributions in meetings, and admire her ability to gather feedback from her constituents and advocate on their behalf while continuously uplifting and working in conversation with them. Diana stands out from her peers because she consistently shows up, does the work, then shows up some more. She has come to every information session, meeting, extra brainstorming session, social media event, that you can think of, and she is consistently present, actively listening, and thoughtfully contributing. Diana is the first one to arrive at every meeting, and she comes with ideas and a unique perspective as an international scholar, youth-entrepreneur, advocate, and leader. It is almost unheard of for a meeting to pass without someone asking the Senate for help with a task and Diana instantly volunteering her support. Her time management and prioritization skills are superb, as she seamlessly navigates her responsibilities as a Senator, an international student, a CIE fellow, a mentor to countless international students applying to colleges in the U.S., a blogger, and mentor to other young leaders. Diana is a light in every space she enters, whose energy, thoughtfulness, and ideas are contagious. She invigorates her peers and any discussion she is a part of. I am so grateful to have worked with her on Senate, and know that she is a remarkably strong contributor to any team, or task, she involves herself with.”
