The IAC is a community of tech and science geeks who are passionate in supporting the translation of use-inspired academic innovation into high-potential ventures feeding the ecosystem. We bring together academic innovators, advisors and ecosystem support systems to learn about each other and facilitate collaborations. In our IAC Fellow program, we work with (mainly academic) innovators who have conducted Lean Launchpad workshops funded by the National Science Foundation and the Great Lakes I-Corps Hub. These innovators have a preliminary understanding of their technology-problem-fit and potential business model. To accelerate their technology development they need support from the ecosystem, which could include mentorship, industry insights, industry expertise (what works, what does not work), industry connections, input on potential application (especially from people "who have seen a lot" can can advise), pilot deployment sites, letter of recommendation for federal grants, etc. We are industry-agnostic and aim to recruit from across the state (current teams are from UM, MSU, WSU) and in future expand across the Great Lakes region.
