I serve as the Team and Individual Development Committee Leader, overseeing a team of dedicated committee members. My responsibilities include recruiting and managing committee members, ensuring exceptional customer service and hospitality for team captains and high-performing individuals year-round, and fostering strong relationships with them through personalized outreach, such as phone calls and meetings.

I take the lead in planning and executing a team kickoff event, collaborating closely with the PurpleStride Chair and my committee. Prior to the kickoff, I focus on recruiting new teams to engage with the team captain community. Additionally, I coach and mentor teams with a primary focus on fundraising, helping them maximize their efforts in support of our mission.

Collaboration is key in my role, as I work with other planning committee chairs to identify event day needs, such as volunteer requirements and rental and giveaway needs for teams and Grand Club members. Effective communication is paramount as I ensure that teams are well-informed about benefits, Grand Club details, deadlines, and event day logistics. I also make it a priority to express year-round appreciation for team captains and Grand Club members.

Furthermore, I actively collect and share inspirational stories of teams and individuals with the Communications Chair. I also play a pivotal role in identifying potential opportunities stemming from teams and individuals, including volunteer placements, patient central referrals, sponsorship referrals, and potential high-level donors, all contributing to the overall success of PanCAN's mission.

To meet these expectations, I maintain a Partnership Agreement with the PurpleStride Chair, have access to necessary technology and computer skills, and respond promptly to inquiries within two business days. I remain committed to the PanCAN mission, thinking holistically about referrals and demonstrating a dedication to advancing our cause.

  • The Journey of the Dreamer

    Amazon

As kids, we could be anyone, we could go anywhere, we could do anything that we could imagine. Our imaginations weren’t limited to budgets, timelines, or value. Our dreams were free of fear and free to roam. We could drive a submarine in the deepest caverns of the ocean one moment, and in the next we could be flying through the open skies without the need of any machinery or propulsion device. We were free. We were dreamers. We were alive.

The only limits to our dreams were those of our own imaginations! Think about it. We could be anyone, do anything, go anywhere! If we could dream it, we could do it ... and we did.

Life has a way of getting in the way. Life has a way of slipping through our fingers. Life has a way of moving on while we simply watch in disbelief. Time slips by. Minutes become hours, become days, become weeks, become years, become decades. Before we know it, we are entrenched in the process of making something of ourselves. Before we know it, we have barricaded ourselves behind responsibilities of every kind. Before we know it, our dreams are but a distant memory, and we have become a shadow of our former selves.

That’s what this journey is all about: to help people break free from monotonous lives and to live the life of their dreams. That’s my calling and my passion. I tell people this all the time, and I truly believe it: my purpose in life is to help reconnect you with your greatness. In other words, to help you become the greatest version of yourself possible.

I want to take you on a journey to understand that you’re able to dream; in fact, that you were designed and created to dream. All of us human beings were. Our dreams are simply an extension of our personalities and an extension of our purpose.
