    We successfully raised over $50,000 each year we produced the "Laff-Off". An idea which was formulated by me and implemented with event planner and fellow board member, Crisite Woodard of Plan-it Productions. We had the full support of the board and several corporate sponsors. The success of the annual event helped launch the popular Long Island Comedy Festival which was the brain child of former Laff-Off winner Paul Anthony.

    The story of Chef AJ who at 14 was still living in a home with no appliances due to Hurricane Sandy.
    She was bullied for having to bring fast food to school everyday. She was also bullied because she wanted to be on an cooking show and the kids teased her for not having appliances. She learned to cook by watching you tube and was able to still make it as an on-air chef for not just one, but two…

    The story of Chef AJ who at 14 was still living in a home with no appliances due to Hurricane Sandy.
    She was bullied for having to bring fast food to school everyday. She was also bullied because she wanted to be on an cooking show and the kids teased her for not having appliances. She learned to cook by watching you tube and was able to still make it as an on-air chef for not just one, but two nationally televised cooking shows. When Drake learned of her story and challenges she reached out to Interior Designer, Wendy Lepkoff to ask for a connection to help get appliances to the young woman. Sub Zero Group E answered the request and provided Chef AJ with a Wolf Appliance. Drake decided to feature the community spirited story on her inspirational Talk Show, Live it Up with Donna Drake and it garnered a Silver Telly as well as a Bronze for Directing.
