Here's how you can tap into the power of diversity in motivational speaking.
There is a term called 'conceptual incarceration' which states that 'you are the prisoner of whose hardcuff you wear'. This is often the end result of cultural imperialism. One dominant group of people bring another dominated group of people to respond to the dominant groups reality as if were their own. One example of this is growing up in Jamaica watching American movies cheering for Tarzan as he demonstrate 'superior knowledge' over the indigenous people and animals of Africa. Another is identifying with the Lone Ranger as he commits 'genocide' on the indigenous people of the Americas. It is said that when lions learn to write, the stories will end quite different; 'and we ate the hunter - The End'.
