    While in high school I competed at the state and national level in mathematics and at the state level in a televised quiz program, "High School Bowl". The musical ensemble I was part of, the "Redman Chorale", won multiple state-wide awards.

In its first year of operation, it has experienced exponential growth, and the company has gained substantial experience with and insight into the nature of Internet Commerce. In this paper, the First Virtual team discusses the lessons we have learned from a year’s experience with the actual operation of an Internet commerce system, and the prospects for the future.

    MSEN designed and implemented a jobs database for the Online Career Center, a non-profit association of employers led by Bill Warren.

    We used the then-current Gopher protocol with custom full-text search software to build a database of over 8000 open positions, providing a friendly and quick way to search for jobs on the newly commercializing Internet.

    In November 1988, a fast-moving computer worm infected computing systems connected to the Internet around the globe. I was part of a team that did incident response at the University of Michigan and was on operations duty monitoring the campus electronic mail system when the worm hit.
