How can you use referrals to break into new markets?
Referrals from exisiting customers or partners is a great way to build your brand into new markets. I was able to transition from eCommerce, to consumer electronics, SaaS, EV's, and into HealthTech by leveraing my existing network which comprised of relationships established from past clients/customers.

What techniques can you use to handle client complaints during the initial contact?
Complaints are a pre-requisites for committed customers. If you think about it, expect to have objections from your future account partners. By demonstrating kindness and empathy, you are being a human being. Even when it's outside of your control, apologizing goes a long way and establishes trust. Take ownership and to do better, starts with acknowledging what needs to be done.
