An industrial revolution is taking place, and the entire globe is starting to take notice. If they still cannot see the radical transformation happening, kindly ask them to consider calling you back when they do. Periodically check in on them until the dots are connected.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱. Enhanced smart meters should track tenant power demand and consumption in real-time, uploading data to a central platform seamlessly in real-time. Tenants should be monitoring and reducing their usage, with automated invoice generation, auditing, and distribution. Tenant groups must access real-time data to understand energy patterns. Building management should be set alerts for deviations from specifications. All building data, such as voltage and amperage should be tracked 24/7 and accessible via computers, tablets, or smartphones for continuous monitoring and adjustments.

𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗠 Most of our systems today are “unintelligent,” meaning they don’t communicate with one another or make use of real-time information for decision-making. Most buildings and businesses have no insight into how much energy they’re using at different stages of production, by operating different machines, or at different times of day. Businesses and processes make guesses based on past performance to predict future need. When you can’t accurately track or predict energy and resource usage, you are forced to buy more energy than actually needed, and at a higher price, to accommodate greater risk and variability. This is a waste of resources and contributes to the complexity of the energy market.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Proactive management of energy consumption and production can seamlessly adapt to dynamic market conditions, evolving grid requirements, and fluctuating customer demands. This adaptability empowers companies to optimize their operations in real-time, ensuring both reliability and efficiency. This effectively makes the company active participants in energy markets. Flexibility is not only crucial for the operational success, but also plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainability objectives. The integration of flexibility can significantly reduce the carbon footprint while simultaneously improving the overall efficiency, and utilization of energy resources.

𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 & 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀. So many facilities are on the wrong tariffs and/or are post contractual and riding the market wide open. This is a clear indication that there is nobody managing the energy procurement strategy. Procurement professionals have gotten too comfortable with their energy broker. If your advisor is not educating you and working to understand in granularity how the energy is being used behind the meter, their interest is simply in renewing your contract so they can get paid. Find the advisor that sits on your side of the table, then use savings to improve w/ smart tech.

Part of the "BIGGER PICTURE" is helping clients and stakeholders is in identifying the cost of non-conformance. What is the cost of not doing anything, or in other words, not understanding the long-term implications of a decision to just plug along like the company always has done in the past. We have moved into some of the most volatile times as it relates to energy in human history. Energy is almost always a top 3 or 4 expense in any organization. Businesses cannot afford to sit back and watch how this energy revolution will unfold. They must be assertive, calculated, and partnering with the most innovative and forward thinking energy partners available. There will be winners & losers. This applies across every sector.
