    Activities and Societies: Played for rugby, football, tennis and water polo teams. Took part in the 20 mile long ducker in my last two years. Was a member of the Navy Cadets, and became Head of the Navy Division in my final year. Earned my Open Water PADI license as part of my training. Was a member of the Plain Song Choir. Was a house monitor, one of the senior boys in charge of monitoring and running my boarding house.

    I took three A-levels and one AS-level. I took maths, physics and english, I scored A, B and A* respectively. I also received an A in AS-level photography.

    Eye opening. I worked in a neighborhood in the middle of Manila that had been destroyed by that year's typhoon season. I enjoyed meeting people from the local community. The men working on the apartment building that I helped out on were locals, who were guaranteed an apartment for themselves and their families. Although they couldn't speak much English, and I couldn't speak any Tagalog, we were able to communicate small things and I enjoyed laughing with them when I shouted as cockroaches…
