Megatrends such as climate change, urbanization, new work practices, and aging populations are starting to impact how we move and how we transport goods, as well as the decisions we make about consumer transportation and logistics. The Flagship Experience discusses how Software-Defined Vehicles and AI will enable automakers, transportation providers, and transportation planners to reimagine the mobility customer experience, and presents a framework for implementing it.

Software-Defined Vehicles will center the customer experience around the customer, not the vehicle. Combining AI with vehicles’ big data generation, configurability, and updatability provides automakers with recurring customer-monetization opportunities. It impacts how automakers design, make, sell, and service vehicles; how transportation and logistics providers maximize their vehicles’ utilization and improve the return on their investment; and how customers (both consumers and businesses) interact with the vehicle, the automaker, and numerous service providers. To succeed in making this shift, organizations will need to undertake important transformations. The Flagship Experience analyzes the approaches already taken and outlines additional ones that will be necessary.

  • The Big Data Opportunity in Our Driverless Future

    Corporate Innovators

From Detroit to Germany, Japan, and Korea, within the incumbent automotive industry there is amplifying conversation about the magnitude, extent, and timing of the disruption that will result from the introduction of driverless vehicles. This disruption will in turn result from changing attitudes toward car ownership and innovations in technology and business models. The combination of electrified, driverless connected vehicles and a variety of Mobility Services will give rise to a hybrid model…

The combination of electrified, driverless connected vehicles and a variety of Mobility Services will give rise to a hybrid model that blends car ownership with on-demand car access. Big data generated inside and outside such vehicles and exploited by machine intelligence technologies are key ingredients in this disruption and offer unique opportunities to incumbents and newcomers as we proceed toward a driverless future. The book presents a strategy for capitalizing on these opportunities by combining corporate innovation efforts with startup innovations.

  • Exploring the process of insight generation

The more I think about the concept of insight as a service, the more I believe that we don't have a good understanding of what constitutes "insight." In today's environment where corporate marketing over-hypes everything associated with big data and analytics, the word "insight" is being used very loosely, most of the time in order to indicate the result of any type of data analysis or any form of prediction. For this reason, I feel it is important to define the concept of insight. Once we…

For this reason, I feel it is important to define the concept of insight. Once we define the concept, we can determine under what conditions we can deliver insight as a service.
