  • JE Dunn | Empowering pre-construction teams to design to budget

    How might we create a tool that facilitates budgeting conversations with clients, designers, and trade partners?
    When JE Dunn approached Crema, they were looking for a partner to help them redesign and build an improved Align tool that would be easily understood by internal and external users alike. While it was functional, it wasn’t easily usable, as it required a significant amount of institutional knowledge to utilize and overwhelmed new users with a crowded UI.

    When JE Dunn approached Crema, they were looking for a partner to help them redesign and build an improved Align tool that would be easily understood by internal and external users alike. While it was functional, it wasn’t easily usable, as it required a significant amount of institutional knowledge to utilize and overwhelmed new users with a crowded UI.

    The tool had great potential to differentiate JE Dunn from the competition by providing a superior pre-con experience helping them win more business, but it needed a serious renovation.

    Crema and JE Dunn set out to completely re-imagine Align, not only to create an improved user experience but to facilitate an estimation process that would enable estimators to find “ingenious ways” to save costs without sacrificing the goals of the project.

    CAFFEINATING An entrepreneurial nation.
    Kauffman Foundation launched and has grown the educational program of 1MC around the nation. The we application Crema crafted with Kauffman supports local community organizers receive and vet, and schedule applications for their weekly events. The platform acts as a hub for the organization as a whole and supports quickly brining on more communities and volunteers as the programs grows to nearly 100 communities!

    he Growth Mentoring Service is an ECJC program, modeled after the established and highly recognized MIT VMS mentoring program, which connects experienced entrepreneurs with a team of skilled volunteer mentors. We use a group mentoring approach—a lead mentor coordinates a team of 3-4 mentors that meet together with the entrepreneur(s) in sessions that provide practical, day-to-day professional advice and coaching. GMS mentors are matched based on their experience in areas relevant to the needs…

    he Growth Mentoring Service is an ECJC program, modeled after the established and highly recognized MIT VMS mentoring program, which connects experienced entrepreneurs with a team of skilled volunteer mentors. We use a group mentoring approach—a lead mentor coordinates a team of 3-4 mentors that meet together with the entrepreneur(s) in sessions that provide practical, day-to-day professional advice and coaching. GMS mentors are matched based on their experience in areas relevant to the needs of entrepreneurs and their enthusiasm for the program and the entrepreneur’s business. Mentors are required to subscribe, in writing, to a Statement of Principles that govern their behavior, outline their responsibilities, ensure confidentiality, guard against conflicts of interest, ensure a safe environment and control financial involvement with the entrepreneurs and their businesses. Relationships between mentors and entrepreneurs are formed based on the needs of the entrepreneur and the interests of available mentors. The Growth Mentoring Service is managed by the Enterprise Center in Johnson County, a non-profit organization that connects entrepreneurs with the resources they need to grow and scale. It is supported by a generous grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
