    Grant graduated in the top 12% of his law school class at St. Mary's University School of Law. While in law school, Grant was a member of Phi Delta Phi international law fraternity, and was on both the EAP Competitive Mock Trial Team and the EAP Competitive Moot Court Team. Grant competed in multiple Mock Trial competitions including the National Trial Advocacy Competitions in Michigan State and in New Orleans. Grant competed in multiple Mock Trial competitions including the National Trial Advocacy Competitions in Michigan State and in New Orleans. He also competed in the TYLA State Moot Court Competition where his team received both a Best Speaker award and Best Brief Award. Grant also won the 2010 St. Mary's Spring Moot Court Competition.

    Grant Michael Gaines was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. While at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Grant majored in marketing and was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law fraternity and the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

  • 3rd Annual Buying and Selling a Business in Uncertain Times Seminar

    Buying or selling a business under the current economic conditions can provide great opportunities, but those opportunities often carry risks of hidden liabilities and other unexpected hazards. During this seminar, Grant will be providing advice on how to accomplish a client’s objectives, anticipate issues and potential problems, determine the proper tax treatment, and draft an even-handed, fully negotiated agreement.

    Renting can be a complex area of the law to navigate, especially in the face of continuously changing regulations and uncertain economic conditions. As a speaker, Grant took part of answering questions and shared his insight concerning the legal and practical aspects of both commercial and residential landlord- tenant law.

    With constantly fluctuating legislation and an unpredictable economy, managing rental property or counseling those who do can often seem like more risk than it’s worth. This seminar covered the essential legal and practical aspects of landlord-tenant law. As a speaker, Grant provided answers and shared practical, workable solutions to help plan ahead and prevent problems before they start.
