The board’s duties are to provide input, feedback and advice on projects and programs to enrich the visual and aesthetic environment of the City and to advise on other matters relating to long-term goals and objectives for parks, recreation and cultural activities, streetscape and urban forestry programs, as requested by the City Council or referred to the board by the city manager.

Promote and coordinate the transformation of future civil engineers, engineering students, and young
engineers into professionals within the Texas Section. Oversee strategic programing and projects that
support Student Chapters, Faculty Advisors, Practitioner Advisors, and Younger Members and increase

In an effort to maintain the “Sugar Land Way,” this project aims to define and clarify responsibilities of the city and the different organizations involved in order to continue to provide a high level of services to residents.

These services include the maintenance of the right-of-way, streets, trees, irrigation, street lighting, aging infrastructure and facilities, and constantly improving the appearance of the community - all while maintaining a focus on the value for resident's tax dollars.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in community dialogue and education process regarding City/HOA maintenance concerns and to attend public roundtable discussions.
Help identify any gaps in service relating to public infrastructure.
Review current policies and provide input and direction on policy and ordinance changes.

The primary responsibility of the Vice President Administration is to oversee the preparations for and execution of Branch meetings, including meeting hosts and sponsorships.

To serve as the chief financial adviser for the Branch and oversee the annual budget, Branch investments, reserve funds, operating funds, and provide long-term financial planning. The Treasurer position is established as a two-year term.

Class participants learn about the city of Sugar Land and the function of its government.

Prepare meeting agendas/minutes for board meetings and carry out other ASCE-related business as requested by the Branch President.
