Here's how you can enhance patient outcomes through strategic thinking as a patient advocate.
For the best health outcomes, patients must have what they need to make informed decisions about their health. By providing patients with information about relevant treatment options, and preventive measures at the point of care, we can empower people to self-manage their health more effectively. When patients are well-informed, they can confidently engage with providers, ask questions, and adhere to treatment plans, leading to better health outcomes.

Here's how you can enhance your communication with patients using technology.
As a psychologist and through my work at Phreesia, I’ve seen the impact of providing resources to patients at the point of care, when they are most receptive. Receiving messages about preventive screenings or vaccination reminders when they check in to their appointment at the doctor’s office not only empowers the patient to make informed decisions about their health but also maximizes the efficiency and effectiveness of time spent with providers. When patients are informed about their health, it allows for more engaged and actionable care visits. In this way, technology can be used to educate patients and enable them to take preventive measures for their health.

Here's how you can cultivate a collaborative culture as a patient advocate within your organization.
Providing the best possible healthcare means providers must consider their patient’s experience and worldview, and meet them where they are. Every patient has unique opinions and life experiences that are worthy of understanding and respect. When we recognize social drivers that impact health and take them into account in our care, health outcomes improve. Acknowledging that other people’s motivations are no less valid than our own is essential to ensuring that empathy remains at the forefront of care.
