Projects

  • Driver Cooling System - Senior Project

    -

My team was tasked with creating a new Driver Cooling System for casual to semi-professional racing drivers as our senior design project. The team and I designed, built and tested a new technology that has never been used in driver cooling product space before. I was personally in charge of design, testing and project management.

2015-2016: Aerodynamics sub-team member. Expanding design skills by working on the front endplate design to improve downforce and airflow to the other components of the car. Improving manufacturing skills by learning how to work with carbon fiber for wing profiles. Developing software skills by learning CFD basics, including meshing and surfacing, HSMWorks and MasterCAM to CNC machine parts and molds for the team.

2016- 2017: Engine sub-team member. Expanding knowledge of the function and anatomy of 4-stroke race engines with hands-on experience in preparing the car. Developing data analysis skills through the use of Motec i2 and Matlab.

2017-2018t: Engine sub-team member. Created a new intake manifold for the combustion car. Used CAD surfacing skills to create a 3D printed plenum and runner geometry. Utilized CFD to study the 2017 intake manifold and apply what I learned to the 2018 model.

  • Gas Bike Piston

    -

Designed a high compression piston to replace the stock piston in the gas bike project. Used SolidWorks to create a part that will increase both power and hopefully efficiency. Found inspiration for the design from a Cosworth race piston. Currently working on a CAM file to mill my piston design to test performance. Also working on a 3D printed version of the piston to check fit and design before machining.

  • Gas Bike

    -

Converted an old beach cruiser into a gas bike. Fabricated necessary missing parts and tuned the bike to achieve peak performance and reliability.
