In 2021 the software company kicked off its BMC Cares communication campaign.

Its goals were to drive awareness and generate coverage around BMC’s expanding CSR efforts and amplify employee engagement in BMC’s CSR and DEI initiatives. To that end, BMC implemented an internal and external blog series focused on CSR and DEI thought leadership.

One article, “Breaking the Bias: The Journey Towards Global Gender Parity,” posted for International Women’s Day, celebrates past and present female inventors at BMC. Other topics include initiatives to aid people with disabilities, transitioning from a military role to a civilian workforce, and more. The blog series earned 2,798 views within its first year.

The employee communications team distributed invitations to more than 6,000 employees for a Diversity Speaker Series. The series featured 15 speakers and sparked dialogue on topics like unconscious bias, imposter syndrome, gender equality and sustainability.

BMC also initiated an internal email and blog campaign urging all employees to participate in its inaugural International Day of Service, an opportunity for the entire organization to come together to serve others across the globe in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. BMC employees logged more than 29,000 volunteer hours, gave back to more than 430 nonprofit organizations and shared International Day of Service activities nearly 100 times on LinkedIn.

The digital marketing and creative services teams revamped the BMC Cares corporate external website, illustrating the company’s organizational commitments, CSR and DEI partnerships, annual CSR report and the recent ESG Risk Rating Report.
