Since 2012 HFC has raised over $15 million and awarded more than 350,000 hours of in-home care relief to families impacted by Alzheimer’s Disease through their North American Caregiver Respite Grant Program. In addition to providing caregiver respite, HFC organizes online support groups, a particularly helpful resource for caregivers who were further isolated during the COVID pandemic and resulting quarantine. If you’d like to learn more about HFC, the work they’re doing daily and the initiatives that I’ll be working with the ambassador board to help them further, you can visit www.wearehfc.org. -

The FLC is comprised of 24 handpicked professionals from the companies in the seniors housing and care and finance sectors that have volunteered time and resources to support NIC’s mission. Members of the FLC contribute to the work of NIC committees and task forces, get the chance to develop volunteer leadership skills, and have ample opportunity to form meaningful professional relationships with current NIC leaders while functioning as an extension of the Board.
The selection of FLC members is a highly competitive application process. Nominations originate from senior level executives within their respective companies and are focused on candidates with:
Passion
Commitment
Strong leadership potential
The ability to think creatively and strategically
5 and 10 years of relevant work experience
The FLC is a three-year commitment, and members meet as a group quarterly. Each class focuses on different NIC initiatives and programs, always working closely with each other, the Board, and various committees and task forces.
We believe developing young leaders helps us handle the unique challenges and opportunities of our industry. Harnessing the substantial talent of the FLC is just one more way that the NIC is gearing up for the future.
