What are the most important factors to consider when designing email marketing content?
Write for the smallest possible audience. Then think about what is the value for them taking the time to open and interact with your email. Email open and click through rates continue to plummet. The way to avoid falling victim to yelling into an abyss is to identify specifically WHO (persona, role, company profile, etc) you want to talk to, and exactly WHAT you want them to do with the information you’re providing. Before sending an email, consider other distribution channels. Would the content be better tailored and delivered via a specific social media channel? Perhaps even with paid dollars behind it to guarantee reach?
