How can TDD improve your software documentation?
- The best documentation is an example of how to use an interface - The best documentation describes inputs, outputs and intent (an objective) - The best documentation is kept up to date with the code because it lets you know when things change. - The best documentation can allow you to step through an example examining state changes. - The best documentation reveals edge cases, limitations, and gotchas. - The best documentation gives you an idea of the CPU, disk and resources required to run the code. - The best documentation clearly expresses dependencies on libraries, tools and subsystems I could go on... But TDD done right provides executable, verifiable documentation in the native lingo of programmers using an interface.

See projectI've been the webmaster for UtahFEAT for a few years now. It started as an early Ruby on Rails application, was migrated through several versions of that technology and changed in different ways according to the needs of the organization. Recently (2012), I took the time to streamline and re-write it as an extremely simple (and more attractive) Twitter Bootstrap/JavaScript and MongoDB application with essentially no back-end code.
