    Waller County experienced a wildfire crisis beginning on September 5, 2011 ongoing through September 14, 2011.

    Being a small county with little budget, they do not have an Information or Communications Officer on staff. During the wildfire which burned 10,500 acres and destroyed 65 homes, I drafted and executed Crisis, Media and Community Communications Plans.

    I worked 20 hour days for the duration of the event making every news cycle.

    I designed, wrote and delivered 3 Townhalls (one in Spanish) and over 35 Releases and Statements. I worked wtih over 62 Reporters and Writers, 6 Television outlets, 3 Radio outlets and 7 Print outlets. I gave over 18 interviews, 5 video tours and arranged a number of other interviews with County Officials.

    I orgranized volunteer coordinators and a volunteer pool to man the Command Center and a Phone Bank. I drafted their scripts and wrote their FAQs.

    I liased with local, state and federal elected officials and organizations.

    I co-created and monitored 4 Facebook pages securing over 8 million post views during the duration and posted status updates on Twitter.

    I created collateral to be posted for those without internet access, secured translation, free printing and distribution.
