We established standards for markup and CSS and instituted the usage of 'linting' JavaScript prior to code submissions. We brought online workflows that included Compass/SCSS, node + grunt and managing the code with repositories.
The end result: page weight was halved, CSS was cut by two-thirds, JavaScript that was made to be much more efficient and less 'blocking'.Other creatorsSee project -

When we first met Mike and John their site was hosted on Tumblr and their transactions were a complex interweaving of resources on an external server posting orders to PayPal.
Mike and John were very concerned about allocating resources and making commitments with their business before they had the customer base to support a serious redressing of their website. The site needed to be stabilized and allow for The Foodery to continue offering delicious meals that were easy to order.
August 2013 marks the re-launch of The Foodery's new and improved site that comprises WordPress, WooCommerce, custom gift card management solution, and a very responsive interface.Other creatorsSee project -

Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting
Columbia University
With the whole of The Boston Globe staff, I am lucky to be among those honored with the Pulitzer Prize for the distinguished example of local reporting of breaking news.

From the first seconds of the events that unfolded on April 15th, 2013, the world was captive to the story and leaning hard on The Boston Globe for our commitment to getting accurate information out to the public in a responsible and timely manner. Over the course of the first five days, the Globe's websites (boston.com, bostonglobe.com) registered 86.8 million page views with millions more over the ensuing days.
We dropped the paywall immediately on the Globe's subscription system as we knew the public would uniquely depend on us - and traffic soared six-fold. Our current CMS had never seem so much traffic.
This award goes to each individual that worked so tirelessly to get the story to those that were listening, reading and watching.
I personally want to thank the editors and writing staff that worked with the development team to ensure we had what we needed to move their words, images and videos on to the web.
