The visitor is periodically remind as to their article limit and given an opportunity to log in or subscribe. After that meter is reached the user is required to sign up, log in or wait for additional access.

Certain considerations had to be taken in to account as to the journalistic integrity of the Globe and the importance of the Globe as a source of credible information within the community… Show more

The end result: page weight was halved, CSS was cut by two-thirds, JavaScript that was made to be much more efficient and less 'blocking'. Show less

The Philadelphia magazine Design Home is always an extraordinary example of luxury living in the Philadelphia region and the website promoting the people, companies and organizations involved could be no less exemplary. With considerate touches such as a responsive vector image map for easily moving between floors and rooms this site is another example of collaboration between Zocalo and MetroCorp.

The site needed to be stabilized and allow for The Foodery to continue offering delicious meals that were easy to order.

August 2013 marks the re-launch of The Foodery's new and improved site that comprises WordPress, WooCommerce, custom gift card management solution, and a very responsive interface. Show less

An implementation of a UI/UX aimed at converting unsubscribed visitors to the BostonGlobe.com site, the Growler was built to carry not just Globe branding but also to support sponsorships.

How do you bring together music, scholars and faculty for an epic annual event? The combination of fantastic visual design, information architecture and user experience is how. Here is what we did for Harvard University's Sawyer School of Music.

Working with the visual masters at goodgood, we were able to provide not only a well crafted content manged solution for the client, but also a flexible architecture to push the "Hearning Modernity" seminar to the next level.

In response to the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013, Boston Magazine contacted Zocalo to help create a digital narrative to accompany the shoes that formed the May cover story. With a deadline of less than eight days, we delivered an awesome platform that built right in to their existing CMS installation that allowed for the submission, curation, and management of stories, photos and more.

Author Peter Rand is a critically acclaimed author and professor at Boston University. He has written many novels including China Hands.

Working with his promotion company, Commonwealth Promotion Inc., we worked with Peter to develop and design a new site for his book "Conspiracy of One". The site's goals included promotion of the book, sales leads and the organization of research and resources he has collected for writing this novel.

A truly unique charter school based in Boston, Conservatory Lab teaches students through the use of music, instruments and the arts.

Administrators at Conservatory Lab called us to see if we could pick up management of their existing site, and of course, we said yes. We have since provided them with a complete e-commerce system for fund raising, and with continual site enhancements.

Utilizing an established third-party content aggregation vendor, built an 'infinite' stream of articles that followed a custom build story tease carousel.

The stream was built with jQuery, Mustache.js and backbone.js.

Boston based event management company Commonwealth Promotion called us to help them build their brand new site for their long-standing annual event: Boston International Antiquarian Bookfair.

Working with a local design firm, we crafted strategies and services in web development, exhibitor registration, site architecture and custom content management. The newly developed site is now flexible for content management, and annual updating.

When our local cheesy heroes from The Great Food Truck Race call and say 'HELP! We need a website!' we respond!
