    Poverty Alleviation

    Jim Hunt participated in Habitat for Humanity's Global Village Program and traveled to Poland and Hungary building housing for the disadvantaged. This work has given me a new perspective on the world and how to alleviate poverty on a global basis. Jim also served his local Habitat for Humanity chapter as Vice-President for over 20 years.

Hunt served over 27 years as Mayor and Councilmember in Clarksburg, West Virginia and had a long career in housing development and neighborhood revitalization. His first book, co-authored with former ICMA Board Member, Mike Conduff, was titled “Bottom Line Green-How America’s Cities are Saving the Planet (And Money Too!) examined ways for cities to adopt energy efficient projects while saving their cities money. He is currently a professional speaker and consultant who travels throughout the country speaking to thousands of people on excellence in local government.
