The English Department awards the annual Elliot Gilbert Memorial Prize to the author of the best critical undergraduate honors thesis produced within a given school year. In order to be considered for the prize, undergraduate students must first be selected to participate in the English Department's Critical Honors Program, for which there are fifteen seats.
